This year we went to the Oregon Coast for the 4th of July. This was the first of our Bunn family reunions to take place every 5 years at the beach on the 4th. When we were younger, we used to go to the beach house every year for the 4th with all the rest of the Bunn clan. Since we have gotten older, gotten married, and had kids, we just weren't able to make it. We were realizing while there that it has been almost 8 years since we've gone. We had a great time. My parents put us up in a cute beach house on Bella Beach just a short walk from the family beach house; what used to be trees and a few older houses in the surrounding area of the beach house is now a developement of nice, quaint beach "cabins". Ours was called "Annabelle". Missy and Jason came from Virginia and Casey and Kim made it down from Moscow. We had a full house.

Troy loving the beach

a repeat...can't figure out how to get it off! :-)

It was fun to come back to the old traditions we grew up doing every year. Some of those traditional activities included the lap sit (we got 36 laps...I think!), the talent show (which for those who don't know our family is more to show off our lack of talent), and games on the beach. A couple new activities was portrait painting, which I wasn't able to get around doing (bummer) and a night out at the movies to see Eclipse, for those who are avid fans like myself. The night of the 4th our family had some firework fun. The boys loved the pop-its and sparklers (well, except maybe Mason, when he decided to grab the sparkler end). My Dad broke out the questionably legal fireworks like bottle rockets, which still worked great! It was fun to watch Troy love the fireworks, and also fun to get in on the fun myself with a sparkler here and there.
