Chad and I decided one night to give Troy a new bed. Well, more accurately, to transition his crib to a toddler bed. It was a quick fix, and viola!, a toddler bed. Troy jumped in and had the hugest smile on his face. He loves it. It took him about 1 1/2 days to realize that he could get out just as easy as he could climb in. Those 1 1/2 days were nice. Now, naps definitely don't happen unless he's rocked to sleep, and bedtime is becoming a ritual of the up-down-up-down. We have discovered, though, that if we close his door all the way (instead of just cracking it like we used to), he stays in his room. He door sticks a little so he really has to crank on the handle to open it, which he can't consistently do with any success. It's kinda a nice fix to him getting out of bed. There have been a few nights where Chad or I have found him sleeping on the floor, either because he plays around till he falls asleep, or because he tumbles out of bed in his sleep (which, seriously, how do kids NOT wake up when they fall out?).
This is how Chad found him when he checked on him one night. No wonder he falls out. :-)

That doesn't give me hope. We just put Carlee in a toddler bed and she did really well the first night, but maybe that's because she hasn't quite figured it out yet...
